About

History

In August 2004, Paul McGloin returned to Scranton after coaching in the Cape Cod League. He decided to leave coaching college baseball and build a high school program. He accepted the Head Baseball Coach Position at West Scranton where, in just seven seasons, he took the Invaders to their first league championship in 16 years and their first district championship game in 41 years. In his spare time, he conducted camps, clinics, and private lessons. These events blossomed into an increasing demand for an academy where Coach McGloin and his staff could train players on a twelve-month basis.

In January 2012, Coach McGloin resigned as Head Coach from West Scranton. He accepted a position as an associate scout with the New York Yankees. After seeing a need to house the daily operations of Electric City Baseball & Softball Academy, Coach McGloin opened its headquarters at 733 Davis Street in Scranton, Pennsylvania. A few years afterward, the academy moved to a bigger location and its current home at 501 Wyoming Avenue in downtown Scranton. The academy is open seven days per week and on most holidays. Coach McGloin hired colleagues from various parts of Northeastern Pennsylvania who all have college and/or professional playing or coaching experience to assist him with instruction.

With Coach McGloin’s extensive background, along with ECBSA’s top-notch staff, you will not find a more complete program for players at all levels – from the beginner to the professional. ECBSA strives to make each player better in a fun, energetic learning environment. We hope to see you soon!
